Kia Telluride for Urbana IL
Currently the largest Kia on the road, the new Kia Telluride from Napleton's Kia of Urbana, Illinois is large and in-charge. With a little bit more of everything, it is the leader of the Kia pack of SUVs. And what it has is more. More power from the new 3.8-liter LAMBDA II V6 Gas Direct Injection (GDI) engine. More gears: An eight-speed automatic transmission. And finally, more room. The largest, most capable vehicle ever offered by the Kia brand, it is also the one that's able to haul the most passengers. Eight. That's right, eight people can fit comfortably inside. Oh, and then there's room for their things, too.

Designed at the Kia Design Center in Irvine, California, and built at the sparkling new Kia Plant in West Point, Georgia, by Americans, for Americans. The new Kia Telluride is a symbol of the company's bold vision of the future. Browse through our inventory at Napleton's Kia of Urbana and call one of our sales professionals to arrange for a test drive as soon as possible.

In order to get motivated, there has to be some real power under the hood. The Kia Telluride doesn't disappoint. The Telluride is powered by the Kia LAMBDA II 3.8-liter V6 gas direct-injection (GDI) engine, which makes 291-horsepower and 262 lb-ft of raw torque. Fully capable, the Telluride can tow up to 5,000 pounds, as well as carry a cargo volume of 178.1 cubic feet. The LAMBDA II engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission for accurate, smooth shifting. The entire Telluride rides on a four-wheel independent suspension for a smooth ride, whether on- or off-road. For those with varying ride loads, an available self-leveling rear suspension will adjust ride height automatically to optimize control and stability. It's the perfect option for those who do a lot of towing, whether it's a boat, a trailer, a racecar or more.

With Optional on-demand all-wheel-drive, the Kia Telluride is equally capable, for both on and off-road use. Amazingly, the system redistributes the amount of power available to the front and rear wheels. In a normal situation, while using Eco or Smart modes, the system will send 100-percent of the power to the front wheels. Snow and Comfort modes will send up to 80-percent forward and 20-percent to the rear wheels. Sport mode splits the power 65:35 front to rear, while locking mode sends an equal amount of torque to all four wheels. Additionally, Kia's Downhill Brake Control can assist while heading down steep grades. Engaging the control will help the Telluride ease down a steep incline using only the gearbox to maintain vehicle stability. This is all done without touching the brakes. It sounds scary until you actually try it. Then you become one of the converted.

The imposing look of the new Kia Telluride is one of its best features. Large and aggressive, it possesses a certain upright stance that lets everyone know your vehicle means business. From its bold, stacked headlights, to the elongated naming across the hood and rear deck to its inverted "L" tail lamps with LED stripes, that are standard on EX and SX models, you just can't look away from it. Impossible to ignore, regardless of which angle it is viewed at, the Kia Telluride offers an impressive visage, from its upright windshield design to its long, sweeping sidelines. It exudes luxury without even realizing it.

Turning inward, the Telluride's interior features available double-stitched Nappa leather, simulated brushed metal and matte finished wood. Grab handles are integrated throughout including on the center console, which implies the Tellurides' ability to journey off the beaten path. Heated and ventilated front seats join reclining third-row seats, and complete the total effect.

High-technology abounds, whether in the department of in-car entertainment, or vehicle and passenger safety. In the center console is an available 10.25-inch color touchscreen, with rear view monitor and parking guidance.  Audio offerings include the standard systems and range all the way up to an optional 630-watt Harman Kardon 10-speaker audio system with Clari-Fi technology that restores digital music. There's Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto connectivity, along with optional Qi Wireless smartphone charging. There's also a few USB charging ports. Five come standard, a sixth is available. Overall, the effect is more luxe-living than utility vehicle.

But that's not all. The Kia Telluride is a full-featured tour de force that includes an array of some of the most desirable safety technologies available today. They include seven airbags, Downhill Brake Control, Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist Rear (BCA-R), Hill-Start Assist Control, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist (RCCA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Safe Exit Assist (SEA), Highway Driving Assist (HDA), Head-Up Display (HUD), Driver Talk, Quiet Mode and Rear Occupant Alert. Our favorite is the Driver Attention Warning (DAW) which flashes the icon of a coffee cup, if it thinks you are getting drowsy.

The new Kia Telluride is one of the most exciting offerings from Kia, and one that will have people turning heads from blocks away. Contact your Napleton's Kia of Urbana sales professional in Urbana, Illinois, today, to arrange for a test drive.
